This course outlines the basic components of an accident investigation. During this interactive session, participants will define key terms and discuss the accident investigation process. The participants will be encouraged to participate in group discussions and exercises, including an accident investigation case study. Some of the topics covered include: definitions, legislative requirements, planning for investigations, steps in an accident investigation and preparing a report.

This course outlines the main components of the Canada Labour Code (CLC) Part II. During this interactive session, participants will review regulations as well as gain an understanding of their rights and responsibilities. During the course the participants will be encouraged to participate in group discussions and exercises. Some of the topics covered include: what is the Canada Labour Code Part II, how to read the code, duties of employees and employers, internal complaint resolution, right to refuse, health and safety committees, health and safety representatives, permanent structures; temporary structures and excavations, electrical safety, hazardous substances, materials handling, confined spaces, hazardous occurrence investigation; recording and reporting, and first aid.

Did you know that YOUR workplace could have several confined spaces requiring controlled entry? Most larger buildings and construction sites have at least one or two. Workers must be trained in the proper recognition, procedures and equipment necessary to safely enter and work in these confined spaces. This one-day program begins with a thorough examination of the definitions of a confined space and the legislation that governs their safe entry. Confined Space Entrants and Attendants learn their respective roles through a discussion of confined space hazards, exposure limits, confined space preparation and safe work procedures. The program also includes a substantial “hands-on” component through the demonstration and use of various confined space entry, testing and rescue equipment.

This course teaches drivers to avoid collisions in spite of adverse conditions and the actions of others. It meets the need for today's complex traffic environment. Ideally suited for organizations with company vehicles and / or staff that travel highways frequently.

This is a driver evaluation process. Participants will be assessed as to their capabilities behind the wheel. The instructor will utilize two check lists, The Newfoundland and Labrador Road Test in Traffic and the Smith System "Behind the Wheel" to evaluate the driver. The assessment can be formalized per client request or it can be in the form of a commentary drive.

This 8 hour course is designed for any worker who has to work at height and utilize fall protection. Beginning with a thorough discussion of the legal requirements for fall protection and the hierarchy of system selection, the course focuses on establishing working solutions for fall hazards. Through several hands-on exercises, workers discuss and learn proper selection, usage, limitations, maintenance and daily inspection of Personal Fall Arrest Systems. Finally, the program provides an introduction to specialized fall protection systems such as self-retracting, vertical and horizontal lifelines as well as underlining the importance of fall arrest rescue planning.
